Kid’s Marathon

Kids can be part of the Rocket City Marathon excitement by participating in the Kid’s Marathon. It is a non-competitive event for children in grades K-8. Students become marathon finishers on race day by completing the final mile of a cumulative marathon training program in the weeks leading up to the race.

The Kid’s Marathon is a 14-week running program that encourages kids to complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) by running approximately 1.75 mile per week. The final mile is completed in grand fashion as each child finishes their marathon distance in front of cheering fans, friends, and family at the official finish line of the Rocket City Marathon inside the South Hall of the Von Braun Center (VBC).

Participants will receive an awesome race shirt and unique finisher medal.
